Customizing Your Gift Card Template

Shopify gives you full control over how your gift cards look when they're sent to customers. The gift card page is a standalone Liquid template that can be customized to match your brand.

Where to Find the Template

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
2. Click Actions > Edit code on your active theme
3. Look for templates/gift_card.liquid in the file tree

What You Can Customize

The gift card template supports the following customizations:

• Branding — Add your logo, brand colors, and custom fonts
• Layout — Rearrange elements like the gift card code, balance, and QR code
• Messaging — Update the text shown to gift card recipients
• Styling — Apply custom CSS to match your store's look and feel

Important Notes

• The gift card template renders independently from the rest of your theme — it does not use your theme's header or footer by default.
• Changes to the template apply to all gift cards, including previously issued ones.
• Always preview your changes before publishing to make sure everything looks right on both desktop and mobile.
